A properly prepared Will serves several purposes. It formally records your wishes about who should benefit from your Estate and how it is to be distributed, it allows you to appoint a trusted person to act as your Executor and administer your Estate and it provides clarity and continuity in the ownership of your assets. Without a valid Will, the intestacy laws determine who administers your Estate and who receives your assets, which may lead to delay, additional expense and unintended outcomes for your family.
